When Suffering and Hope Collide
About Me
I’m Allison Clark, and I genuinely love what I do.
Currently, I serve as a High School School Mental Health Counselor, working closely with students across all grade levels. I support youth facing a wide range of challenges—from anxiety and depression to suicidal ideation and self-harm. My background as both an educator and counselor has given me a deep understanding of children, adolescents, and families. One of the most rewarding parts of my work has always been helping students uncover their strengths and realize their full potential.
After the heartbreaking loss of my second son, I felt a strong calling to walk alongside others navigating grief—especially those who have experienced the loss of a baby or child. This personal journey deepened my passion for working with grief and trauma. While my personal faith is an important part of my own journey, I do not incorporate it into counseling sessions unless it is specifically requested by the client. I strive to honor each individual's beliefs and values, creating a respectful and supportive therapeutic space.
My clinical focus includes grief, trauma, and supporting teens through the use of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). DBT is a powerful approach that helps clients manage intense emotions and navigate life’s unpredictability. With teens especially, I recognize the unique emotional and neurological changes they experience, and I aim to provide tools to help them regulate and thrive.
I also integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) into my work, as I believe our thoughts have a profound impact on our behaviors. By identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, clients can begin making healthier choices aligned with their values and goals.
At the heart of my work is the desire to empower clients to move through life’s challenges with resilience and HOPE. I strive to offer a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space—walking alongside each client with empathy, encouragement, and respect.

Adolescents often face a wide range of emotional, social, and developmental challenges as they navigate the transition from childhood to adulthood. I can help your teen manage issues like anxiety, depression, grief, peer pressure, family conflict, trauma, or difficulties at school. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where adolescents can learn healthy coping skills, improve communication, build self-esteem, and gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Grief is a deeply personal and often complex experience that can affect every part of a person's life. One of the main reasons I became a therapist is that in one of the hardest times in my life, I was unable to find therapeutic support when it came to grief, especially finding a counselor that understood the gravity of losing a child. My goal as a grief-focused counselor is to give a safe and supportive space to walk this unique new journey as we learn how to reconnect with life and learning how to navigate the emotional landscape of loss..
